In the same house as Flatstation, the artist-in-residence programme from CBK-ZO and SMBA is housed. For a period of six months, young artists are invited for the BijlmAIR residency programme by the Centre for Visual Arts Southeast (CBK Zuidoost) and Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (SMBA), to work and live in Amsterdam South East. During that period, the artist reflects on this multi-ethnical part of the city.

Joris Lindhout

was the first artist in residence at BijlmAIR’s new location at Florijn 42. He presented his project 'Ziel in het Beton' on June 21st, 2008.

Artist Hala Elkoussy is the current resident. She is working on the project 'Soap Stories' in the Bijlmer. With this project she collects stories and makes the first 'multikulti'-soap in the Netherlands.
